Forest utilization includes logging of marked trees, production of wood assortments, extraction and transportation of forest wood assortments, construction of forest communications (forest truck roads and skid trails), as well as road infrastructure facilities (bridges, reinforced concrete and slab culverts, etc.).
By utilizing forest resources, all forest management operations are valorised on the market, primarily silvicultural works, through rational management of forest resources.
The planned volume of forest utilization and its qualitative structure is conditioned by the state of forests, the degree of forest openness by forest roads, the situation of the timber market, forest utilization capacities, etc. Maximum permissible volume of forest utilization, with the aim of ensuring durability, has been determined on the basis of conducted forest stand inventories and yield calculations.
