The delegation of PE “National Forests” from North Macedonia, consisting of acting director of PE “National Forests” with associates, and representatives of the Macedonian Ecological Society, paid a visit to SE “Srbijašume” in the period March 14 – 16, 2023.
The aim of the visit was to exchange experiences in the field of protected area management and forest management in protected areas under the responsibility SE “Srbijašume”.
The Department for Forestry and Environmental Protection, together with Forest Estate “Užice”, organized a working visit that included the following: a presentation of the management of NP “Zlatibor”; the work of SE “Srbijašume” in the field of forest management planning and performance of expert advisory work in privately owned forests (owned by natural persons) in SE “Srbijašume” and NP “Zlatibor”; a field tour of the site in the area of NP “Zlatibor”, namely: Ribničko Lake – a presentation of the work on the arrangement of NP “Zlatibor”; Tornik – an example of cooperation between PE “Skijališta Srbija” (“Ski Resorts of Serbia”) and SE “Srbijašume”, i.e., the compatibility of forest management with the development of ski infrastructure; Dobroselica – a tour of a geoheritage object, the Prerast natural stone bridge, and a cultural monument, the Log Cabin Church; Gostilje – a waterfall, an object of hydroheritage and an example of cooperation with the Tourism Organization; NP “Šargan – Mokra gora” – an example of a protected area managed by Mokra Gora ltd. where SE “Srbijašume” manages forests within the protected area – the localities of the Beli Rzav, Bele Vode water spring, Jatare train stop and Mećavnik (Drvengrad/Kustendorf).
