{"id":708,"date":"2019-04-29T13:33:27","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T11:33:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssume.test\/?page_id=708"},"modified":"2026-02-20T15:28:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T14:28:28","slug":"centar-za-posetioce-vrelo-stara-planina","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/en\/zasticena-podrucja\/centar-za-posetioce-vrelo-stara-planina\/","title":{"rendered":"Visitor Centar \u201cVrelo\u201d at \u201cStara Planina\u201d Nature Park"},"content":{"rendered":"The Visitor Center &#8220;Vrelo&#8221; is located on the territory of town Pirot, in the village Brlog, at a distance of 33 km from the town center, within the &#8220;Stara Planina&#8221; Nature Park.<\/p>\n<p>The facility was put into operation in 2012, after the rehabilitation and renovation of the already existing gamekeeper\u2019s house &#8220;Vrelo&#8221;. The works on the facility were carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management, i. e., the World Bank (GEF Component) within the STAR Project, and with the financial support of the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1665 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2-768x362.jpg 768w, https:\/\/srbijasume.rs\/ssume\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Centar-za-posetioce-Vrelo-2-1024x483.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the creation of such a facility was to establish cooperation with users of the \u201cStara Planina\u201c Nature Park, to provide, up-to-date and high-quality presentation of the natural, cultural and acquired values \u200b\u200bof the protected area, as well as to support the local population in order to market their local products and tourist offer.<\/p>\n<p>The Visitor Center is made up of an exhibition and an accommodation area. In two exhibition halls, visitors can see the collections of butterflies and night butterflies\/moths of Stara Planina, fossils from the protected area, as well as collections of the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia and the Institute for Biological Research \u201cSini\u0161a Stankovi\u0107\u201c with strictly protected and protected plant species.
