According to the Second National Forest Inventory of the Republic of Serbia carried out in the period 2018-2023 (source:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/upravazasume.gov.rs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/upravazasume.gov.rs<\/a> ), the total area of forests and forest lands in Serbia amounts to 3.025.471 ha, which is 39% of the country\u2019s total land area. The ratio of state to private property on the forest area is 42% : 58%. Compared to the previous National Forest Inventory (published in 2009), the increase in forest cover is about 5%. The increase in the area under forests compared to the reference year of 1979 (which was about 24%) has been significant; among other things, it has had a positive impact on the environmental conditions and quality in general.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSrbija\u0161ume\u201d LLC Belgrade manages state forests and forest lands on a total area of <span lang=\"EN-US\">\u200b\u200b<\/span>892,029 ha (state of the growing stock as of March 20<sup>th<\/sup>, 2025) and performs professional-advisory service activities in forests owned by natural\/legal persons on a surface of 1,221,265 ha, which covers cca. 3.4 million cadastral parcels and cca. 1,000,000 owners.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Growing Stock Serbia is considered a medium-forested country.
